Emeritus Professor of Economic History, University of Warwick and Professor of Economic History, University of Sussex. His earlier career included positions at London School of Economics, Oxford University and visiting appointments at UC Berkeley and Stanford University. At various times, consultant for HM Treasury, IMF and World Bank. CBE (2014); Fellow of British Academy (1992). Nick is a specialist in 20th-century British economic history.
