Federica Coelli
Federica Coelli is a Principal Research Economist at the EBRD Office of the Chief Economist. She is also a Research Affiliate at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and CESifo research fellow.
Federica is an economist working on international trade and economic growth. Her research focuses on innovation and human capital as key drivers of growth. She studies how economic integration affects incentives for innovation and knowledge diffusion, how local economic shocks influence the geography of innovation, and how technological advances like automation and AI impact labour markets. She also examines the role of human capital in structural transformation and economic development.
Before joining the EBRD, Federica was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Zurich and worked as a consultant in the Research Department at the International Monetary Fund.
She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Oslo.
