An ongoing theme of Prof Koch’s research has been the ways in which political and economic restructuring are reflected in welfare and employment relations as well as in structures of social inequality. More recently, he started to combine these research interests with issues of ecological sustainability, particularly climate change, sustainable welfare and degrowth/postgrowth societies. He also carries out research into promoting synergy across economic, environmental and social policies.
