Carlos Gustavo Machicado Salas is the head of the Department of Economics at the Bolivian Catholic University (UCB), where he works as an undergraduate and postgraduate professor. He worked as Senior Researcher at the Institute for Advanced Development Studies (INESAD Foundation), based in La Paz, Bolivia, later becoming its Executive Director.
He is also a senior economist at the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Bolivia.
