Alison Briggs

Alison is a final year PhD Research Student in the Department of Geography, at the University of Manchester. Alison’s research explores food insecurity through the relational spaces of family, friendships and other social relations. This research aims to offer nuanced understanding of the ways in which food insecurity affects everyday lives and (re) configures relationships. To do this, Alison has adopted a feminist approach and employed ethnography. Alison undertook research into period poverty as part of her Masters degree and used focus groups and narrative interviewing to elicit detailed accounts of women’s lived experiences.
